Kinja is a cross platform virus
Every time you use it your computer slows down a little bit until eventually it's unusable and you need to buy a new one
Intel paid Gawker to develop and deploy Kinja

The real sad part is that I'm actively on a Mac while asking that dumb ass question. Restart your router?

I was only half joking too. I just bought a new MacBook Pro. I don't think my old one would have needed to be replaced if it wasn't for Kinja. I think Kinja killed it over time

I was just kidding.
Mostly an excuse to show the superiority of the Linux Master Race.

I just picked up a new rMBP 13" last night. Mine was a little over 4 years old. It felt soooo slow and I wasn't even gaming on it. All I used it for was work and Oppo. And my work apps weren't intensive - just browser tabs and Office. Can't believe how much the system bogged down after a while. I think 10.9 is a pig

I have a mid-2010 13" MBP 2.4ghz Core 2 duo, 320m Nvidia Graphics, Upgraded 8GB RAM, Upgraded 640GB HDD, 512MB VRAM. Mine is still very current, even though its almost 5 years old. I also reimage it every couple years and I plan on reapplying thermal paste sometime soon. Hopefully, that will help with cooling.

The one I just replaced was a mid 2010 too. Here are the specs. I had upgraded the disk to an SSD for more speed but never upgraded the memory. Still dunno why it got so slow. Just using Office was a drag. Reinstalling OS X from scratch may have helped. But I was too busy to deal with that and needed a working laptop right away...

Thats exactly what I have. Judging by your serial number, yours is much newer than mine. I got mine in April 2010, it was a brand new model, they had just updated it the week I got it. I just try to keep mine well maintained, and upgrade it when needed.

How weird that mine got bogged down so soon. Do you have to use Office much or can you get by with Google Docs and Pages / Numbers? Maybe MS designed Office in such a way that it makes Macs slow to get people to switch to Windows

Once I get all my files off of it I'll give it to IT at work. They can try reformatting the hard drive, installing more memory and installing OS X from scratch. If it runs better then it can be given to someone else at work who has an even older Mac. Work pays for my laptops so I just give stuff back when done with it.
Speaking of Macs I'm so excited about the new iPhone. I'm gonna wait a couple months then decide which iPhone 6 to get. I might go with the big one even though it's harder to pocket or carry around because I use my iPhone all day long so the big screen would be nice. I have a 2 year old iPad that works great but I don't carry it around with me. It stays at home so the 6 Plus would be nice during the day when I'm at work or away from home.

I am new to this discussion system and using CoolNovo on a Toshiba Satellite. Everything else seems to be fine, but pending comments take a VERY long time to load. Long enough to walk off and do something else, then come back, if I really want to see them. Often I simply give up instead.
